Our Brand Story

Finding patterns since inception

Let us paint the picture

You are five years old, basking in the warm sun, hands folded behind your head.

There’s a cool breeze circulating around your face as your checks begin to heat from the sun and it refreshes you. You smell fresh cut grass and the wafting scent of neighbors cooking nearby.

The skies are vast with a shade of periwinkle blue and you notice one cloud floating in the distance. This cloud begins to morph as it drifts, changing shape, and you start to notice patterns that look like animals -- it’s a bird, no it’s a fish, no wait it’s a unicorn!

This day couldn’t get better, you think to yourself. You hear your mom in the distance calling for you to return home and it jolts you back to reality.

Oh well, you think, I’ll see you again Mr. Unicorn Cloud -- do you remember being a kid, laying on the grass, looking up at the clouds, trying to find a familiar shape? Well we do too!

We believe it’s important to stay young at heart and want to help transport you back to that feeling you get when your imagination drifts and you feel child-like again!

Patternicity, as defined in the Scientific American Journal, is the tendency to find meaningful patterns in meaningless noise. In a world where the meaningless noise comes in the form of so much data, the tendency to find meaningful patterns in meaningless noise is useful.

Our logo and some of our core values have been developed with patternicity in mind.

Our Logo

Almost like a Rorschach Inkblot test, our logo has been designed with patternicity in mind to leave it open for interpretation. It is simple with clean lines but out of its simplicity comes so much complexity.

We conducted a small focus group and here are some of the patterns they saw:

1. Building with an open door
2. A bridge
3. Floppy disc
4. Robot face
5. Spartan helmet
6. Two people - one with their arms
   outstretched helping the other
7. Human face
